TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 22nd day of January 2015 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1) and (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (3), (4), (5), (6) and (7).

(1) SIM BALK LANE, BISHOPTHORPE

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Sim Balk Lane, Bishopthorpe between a point 50 metres north west and 50 metres south east of the A64(T) over bridge (closed road) during the period when bridge maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 1900hrs on the 26th day of January 2015 and ending at 0600hrs on the 25th day of April 2015 (works period) or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect during ten overnight periods, between 8.00pm and 6.00am during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Sim Balk Lane, Tadcaster Road, Knavesmire Road, Campleshon Road, Bishopthorpe Road, Church Lane, Sim Balk Lane and vice versa..

(2) STRENSALL NO. 3 LEVEL CROSSING, STRENSALL

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall No. 3 Level Crossing on Lords Moor Lane, Strensall (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 27th day of January 2015 and ending at 0645hrs on the 28th day of January 2015 or on at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed.

(3) NORTH LANE, DRINGHOUSES

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in North Lane, Dringhouses, York between its junctions with Railway View and Jervis Road (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on the 2nd day of February 2015 and ending at 1730hrs on the 13th day of February 2015 (works period) or at a time and date when carriageway resurfacing works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed.

(4) NELSON’S LANE, DRINGHOUSES

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Nelson’s Lane, Dringhouses, York between its junction with Tadcaster Road and a point 50 metres north west of its junction with Breary Close (closed road) during the period commencing at 1900hrs on the 9th day of February 2015 and ending at 2300hrs on the 13th day of February 2015 (works period) or at a time and date when carriageway resurfacing works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect during overnight periods, between 7.00pm and 11.00pm during the works period. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during works period.

(5) YORK ROAD LEVEL CROSSING, HAXBY

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the York Road Level Crossing on Haxby Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period commencing at 2300hrs on 7th day of February 2014 and ending at 0900hrs on the 8th day of February 2014 or at time when track maintenance works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via York Road, A1237, B1363, Mill Lane, The Village, York Road and vice versa.

(6) SCARBOROUGH BRIDGE, YORK

This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in (i) footbridge (known as Scarborough Bridge) over the River Ouse, (ii) Esplanade (north side of River) between a point 10 metres north west and 10 metres south east of Scarborough Bridge and (iii) Esplanade (south side of River) between a point 10 metres north west and 10 metres south east of Scarborough Bridge (restricted road) during the period commencing at 1400hrs on the 6th day of February 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 1st day of March 2015 (works period) or at a time and date when Scarborough Bridge Reconstruction works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, waiting restrictions will be put in place on (i) Bootham, York between a point 35 metres north west and 35 metres south west of its junction with Marygate, (ii) Marygate, York and (iii) Hetherton Street, York (restricted road) during the works period. It is envisaged that the prohibition on pedestrians and vehicles proceeding in the restricted roads will only be put into effect between the following dates (inclusive) at each location during the works period:
(i) footbridge (known as Scarborough Bridge) over the River Ouse, 9th February 2015 and 1st March 2015;
(ii) Esplanade (north side of River) between a point 10 metres north west and 10 metres south east of Scarborough Bridge, 14th February and 23rd February 2015;
(iii) Esplanade (south side of River) between a point 10 metres north west and 10 metres south east of Scarborough Bridge, 14th February and 23rd February 2015;
and the waiting restrictions will only be put into effect between the following dates and times during the works period:
1400hrs on 6th February and 0500hrs on 9th February 2015
1400hrs on 11th February and 0500hrs on 13th February 2015
1400hrs on 19th February and 0500hrs on 23rd February 2015
An alternative route for the diverted pedestrians and traffic at each location will be signed.

(7) BOROUGHBRIDGE ROAD, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) the inner lane of the south east-bound traffic lane of Boroughbridge Road, York between its junctions with Water End and Lavender Grove (closed traffic lane) and prohibit pedestrians and pedestrian controlled vehicles from proceeding in (ii) the footway/cycleway between Water Lane and a point 25 metres north west of the said junction (closed footway/cycleway) during the period commencing at 0930hrs on the 4th day of February 2015 and ending at 1500hrs on the 9th day of February 2015 or at a time and date when electric works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will only be undertaken between 0930hrs and 1500hrs Monday-Friday and 0700hrs -1600hrs on Saturday. An alternative route will be available:
(i) for diverted vehicles via the outer lane of the south east bound traffic lane of Boroughbridge Road;
(ii) for diverted pedestrians and pedestrians controlled vehicles via the inner lane of the south east bound traffic lane of Boroughbridge Road.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
