TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 12th day of February 2015 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8), (9) and (10). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (11), (12), (13) and (14).

(1) WOODLEA AVENUE, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Woodlea Avenue, York between its junctions with Almsford Road and Danebury Drive (closed road) during a period commencing at 0001hrs on 16th day of February 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on 20th day of February 2015 (works period) or on a date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Woodlea Avenue, Woodlea Bank, Carr Lane, Almsford Road and vice versa.

(2) REDENESS STREET, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Redeness Street, York (closed road) during a period commencing at 1800hrs on 16th day of February 2015 and ending at 0500hrs on 20th day of February 2015 (works period) or on a date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect during overnight periods, between 6.00pm and 5.00am during the works period. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during works period.

(3) BRECKSFIELD, SKELTON

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Brecksfield, Skelton between the respective projected western property boundary lines of No.’s 47 and 133 Brecksfield (closed road) during a period commencing at 0800hrs on 16th day of February 2015 and ending at 1730hrs on 20th day of February 2015 (works period) or on a date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Brecksfield, Fairfields Drive, Shipton Road (A19), St Giles Road, The Village, Brecksfield and vice versa.

(4) STRENSALL NO. 1 LEVEL CROSSING, STRENSALL

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall No. 1 Level Crossing on York Road, Strensall (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 15th day of February 2015 and ending at 0645hrs on the 16th day of February 2015 or on at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via York Road, Ox Carr Lane, Moor Lane, Princess Road, York Road and vice versa.

(5) YORK ROAD LEVEL CROSSING, HAXBY

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the York Road Level Crossing on York Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2030hrs on the 15th day of February 2015 and ending at 0600hrs on the 23rd day of February 2015 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect during overnight periods, between 8.30pm and 6.00am during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via York Road, A1237, B1363, Mill Lane, The Village, York Road and vice versa.

(6) RAWCLIFFE DRIVE, RAWCLIFFE

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Rawcliffe Drive, Rawcliffe (closed road) during a period commencing at 0001hrs on 16th day of February 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on 20th day of February 2015 (works period) or on a date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will be undertaken, between 0800hrs and 1700hrs, Monday to Friday during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Water Lane, Green Lane, Rawcliffe Lane and vice versa.

(7) HIGH FIELD, OSBALDWICK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in High Field, Osbaldwick (closed road) during a period commencing at 0800hrs on 18th day of February 2015 and ending at 1700hrs on 20th day of February 2015 (works period) or on a date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed.

(8) MILL LANE, HEWORTH

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Mill Lane, Heworth between its junctions with Heworth Green and East Parade (closed road) during a period commencing at 0700hrs on 23rd day of February 2015 and ending at 1700hrs on 27th day of February 2015 (works period) or on a date when water connection works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed.

(9) FULFORD PARK, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Fulford Park, York (closed road) during a period commencing at 0001hrs on 23rd day of February 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on 27th day of February 2015 (works period) or on a date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.

(10) ALDER WAY, WHITE ROSE AVENUE & WHITE ROSE GROVE, NEW EARSWICK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Alder Way, New Earswick between its junctions with White Rose Avenue and Magnolia Grove, (ii) White Rose Avenue, New Easwick between its junction with Haxby Road and a point 40 metres west of its junction with Alder Way and (iii) White Rose Grove, New Earswick between its junction with White Rose Avenue and a point 20 metres north west of the junction (closed road) during a period commencing at 0001hrs on 23rd day of February 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on 27th day of February 2015 (works period) or on a date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period..

(11) CINDER LANE, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Cinder Lane between its junctions with Heworth Green and Wood Street (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on 23rd day of February 2015 and ending at 1600hrs on the 6th day of March 2015 or at time when footway reconstruction works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Heworth Green, Eastern Terrace, Wood Street and vice versa.

(12) GARDEN PLACE, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Garden Place, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 25th day of February 2015 (works period) or at a time when nearby building works being undertaken by crane operation from the closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via The Stonebow, Hungate, Carmelite Street and vice versa.

(13) BOOTHAM LEVEL CROSSING, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Bootham Level Crossing on Wigginton Road, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 2200hrs on 28th day of February 2015 and ending at 0900hrs on the 1st day of March 2015 or at time when track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Wigginton Road, Haxby Road, A1237, Wigginton Road and vice versa.

(14) BISHOPTHORPE ROAD, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Bishopthorpe Road, York between its junctions with Nunnery Lane and Scarcroft Road (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 2nd day of March 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 23rd day of March 2015 (works period) or at a time when gas renewal works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available:
from the northern closure point via Nunnery Lane, The Mount and Scarcroft Lane.
from the southern closure point via Scarcroft Lane, The Mount, Nunnery Lane and Price’s Lane.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
