Notice of Confirmation of a Public Path Diversion

Notice of Confirmation of a Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order Highways Act 1980 Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 North Yorkshire County Council
Footpath Nos. 35.47/1, 35.47/6 & 35.47/10, Long Drax and 35.6/12, Barlow, Drax Power Station, Long Drax Diversion Order 2014

On 13 February 2015, North Yorkshire County Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and Section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert the public footpaths described below and modify The Former West Riding Area 3 Definitive Map and statement accordingly.
The footpath commencing at SE6596 2814 and running generally east along the northern boundary of Drax Power Station for approximately 1,267 metres to New Road at SE6700 2811, is diverted onto a new route commencing at the same start point and running generally eastwards on a more northerlyroute for approximately 1,923 metres to its junction with New Road at SE6702 2815.
The Order also diverts the footpath commencing at SE6719 2779 and running generally north-west for approximately 464 metres to SE6703 2815 onto a newroute commencing at SE6753 2808 and running west-north-west along the field edge and woodland for approximately 469 metres to the field corner, then south-west along the field edge for approximately 116 metres to SE6703 2815.
A copy of the order as confirmed and the Order Map have been placed and may be seen free of charge during normal office hours at Selby Library, YO8 4EQ, North Yorkshire until 16 April 2015. Copies of the Order and Map may be purchased there at a cost of £2.00, or can be downloaded free from our website www.northyorks.gov.uk/pathnotices.
The Order comes into force on the date on which the Authority certifies, in accordance with Section 119(3) (b) of the 1980 Act, that work to the new section of path, described in part 2 of the Schedule, has been completed, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by Paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within sixweeks from 5 March 2015, make an application to the High Court.
