TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 26th day of February 2015 continuing in force the restrictions in respect of the location numbered (1) and on the said date in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Act made an Order in respect of each of the locations numbered (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (3), (4) and (5).

(1) MONKGATE, YORK

This Order continues in force The York (Monkgate) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2015 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on 20th March 2015. This is necessary to ensure that carriageway resurfacing works can be carried out safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Monkgate, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 2301 hours on the 20th day of March 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 22nd day of March 2015 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the continuation of the closure will only be put into effect between 7.00pm and 11.00pm on Saturday 21st March 2015 during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

(2) YORK ROAD LEVEL CROSSING, HAXBY

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the York Road Level Crossing on York Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 21st day of March 2015 and ending at 0900hrs on the 22nd day of March 2015 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via York Road, A1237, B1363, Mill Lane, The Village, York Road and vice versa.

(3) STATION ROAD, HAXBY

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Station Road, Haxby between its junctions with The Village, Haxby and Calf Close, Haxby (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 30th day of March 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 10th day of April 2015 (works period) or at a time and date when carriageway resurfacing works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. During the works period vehicle movements at the roundabout controlled junction between The Village and York Road, Haxby will be controlled by two-way traffic signals. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed.

(4) BURLINGTON AVENUE, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Burlington Avenue York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 30th day of March 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 10th day of April 2015 (works period) or at a time and date when carriageway resurfacing works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

(5) DUNDAS STREET, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Dundas Street, York between its junction with The Stonebow and Black Horse Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 30th day of March 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 29th day of May 2015 (works period) or at a time and date when crane operation associated with nearby construction work being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will be put into effect in two phases during the works period: Phase 1 will be undertaken over two days between Monday 30th March and Monday 6th April, Phase 2 will be undertaken over fifteen days between Monday 11th May and Friday 29th May. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
