PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION

PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION FOR THE YORK OUTER CONSTITUENCY
1. An election is to be held of a Member to serve in Parliament for the said constituency.

2. Nomination papers may be delivered by the Candidate or his Proposer or Seconder or his Election Agent to the Acting Returning Officer at West Offices, Station Rise, York, between the hours of ten in the morning and four in the afternoon on any day after the date of this notice, (except Saturday and Sunday), but not later than 4.00 p.m. on Thursday 9 April 2015.

3. Forms of nomination paper may be obtained at the place and times aforesaid. The Acting Returning Officer will at the request of any elector, prepare for signature a nomination paper.

4. If the election is contested, the poll will take place on 7 May 2015.

5. The £500 deposit can be paid by legal tender or by means of a banker's draft from a drawer which carries on business as a banker in the United Kingdom.

NOTE
1. The attention of candidates and electors is drawn to the rules for filling up nomination papers and other provisions relating to nomination contained in the Parliamentary Election Rules in Schedule One to the Representation of the People Act 1983 as amended by the Representation of the People Act 1985.

2. Every person guilty of a corrupt or illegal practice will, on conviction, be liable to the penalties imposed by the Representation of the People Act 1983.

3. Electors wishing to arrange to vote as a postal voter and existing postal voters and their proxies should take note that amendments to existing applications should be made to the Electoral Registration Officer at the West Offices, Station Rise, York no later than 5pm on Tuesday 21 April 2015. All applications to be treated as a proxy voter must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the West Offices Station Rise, York by 5.00 p.m. on 28 April 2015 if they are to be effective for this election.

4. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on the grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at West Offices, Station Rise, York by 5pm on 7 May 2015. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2015. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2015
