TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 30th day of April 2015 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (4) and (5).

(1) STRENSALL NO. 3 LEVEL CROSSING, STRENSALL

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall No. 3 Level Crossing on Lords Moor Lane, Strensall (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 2nd day of May 2015 and ending at 0700hrs on the 3rd day of May 2015 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via The Village, York Road, Ox Carr Lane, Flaxton Road, Lords Moor Lane and vice versa.

(2) PORTAL ROAD/ALBION AVENUE, YORK

This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footway connecting Portal Road and Albion Avenue, York (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on 5th day of May 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 1st day of June 2015 or on a date when water works being undertaken have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed.

(3) LOW PETERGATE, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Low Petergate, York between its junctions with Grape Lane and Church Street (closed road) during the period when sewer maintenance works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 5th day of May 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 9th day of May 2015 (works period) or on a date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the ‘ONE WAY’ direction of traffic flow in Low Petergate is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

(4) PAVER LANE, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Paver Lane, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 11th day of May 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 22nd day of May 2015 (works period) or at a time and date when water main connection works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the vehicle access restriction on Paver Lane within 1 metre of the highway boundary line on north east side of Walmgate will be suspended during the works period to allow vehicle access via Walmgate. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during works period.

(5) LIBRARY SQUARE, YORK

This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) the north eastern side of carriageway in Library Square, York and (ii) access road to the rear of the library (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 11th day of May 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 15th day of April 2016 (works period) or at time when nearby construction works being undertaken on the adjacent building have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted pedestrian and vehicles will be available during the closure period.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
