TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 14th day of May 2015 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1) and (2).

(1) ASKHAM LANE, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in
(i) Askham Lane, York between its junction with The Green and the projected south eastern property boundary line of No. 123 Front Street (closed road)
(ii) in the north eastern bound traffic lane of Askham Lane, York between the south western property boundary line of No. 22 Askham Lane and its junction with Front Street, Acomb (closed traffic lane) during the period when water works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 18th day of May 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 22nd day of May 2015 or on a date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. During the works period vehicle movements in the closed traffic lane and at the Gale Lane/Front Street Roundabout will be controlled by three-way traffic signals. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed via Front Street, York Road, The Green, Askham Lane and vice versa.

(2) ST MARTIN’S LANE

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in St Martin’s Lane, York (closed road) during the period when street lighting works are being undertaken that period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1600hrs on the 20th day of May 2015 or on at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

The above temporary Order will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will it prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
