NOTICE OF PROPOSAL THE YORK TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT (AMENDMENT) (NO 14/3) ORDER 2015

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council, in exercise of powers under Sections 1, 2, 4, and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Act, proposes to make an Order which will have the effect of:

Introducing in Selby Road (A19), York:

(a) on its south west side, between the A19 northwest-bound exit from the south eastern roundabout at Fulford Interchange (junction of A19 York-Selby road with the A64(T) Scarborough Leeds road) and A19 northwest-bound exit from the north western roundabout at Fulford Interchange a 24 hour with-flow Local Bus Lanes for the passage of Local Buses, Hackney Carriages, Private Hire Vehicles, Solo Motor Cycles and Pedal Cycles.

(b) on its north west side, of the south eastern roundabout at Fulford Interchange between the northwest-bound traffic lane and the southeast bound traffic lane of A19 Selby Road a 24 hour with-flow Local Bus Lanes for the passage of Local Buses.

A copy of the draft Order, Statement of Reasons for making it and relevant maps can be inspected at the Reception, West Offices, Station Rise, York, during normal business hours. Objections or other representations specifying reasons for the objection or representation should be sent to me in writing to arrive no later than 10th day of June 2015.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 19th day of May 2015 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1) and (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (3).

(1) ST HELEN’S ROAD, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in St Helen’s Road, York between the respective western property boundaries of No.’s 1 and 12 St Helen’s Road (closed road) during a period commencing at 0001hrs on 26th day of May 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on 29th day of May 2015 (works period) or at a time and date when gas renewal works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available:

from the eastern closure point via St Helen’s Road, Tadcaster Road, Moor Lane, Chaloner’s Road, Thanet Road and St Helen’s Road.

from the western closure point via St Helen’s Road, Eason View, Chaloner’s Road, Moor Lane, Tadcaster Road and St Helen’s Road.

(2) GLADSTONE STREET, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Gladstone Street, York (closed road) during the period when gas connection works are being undertaken that period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1630hrs on the 21st day of May 2015 or on at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

(3) ELMFIELD AVENUE, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Elmfield Avenue, York between its junction with Malton Road and a point 50 metres north west from the said junction (closed road) during the period commencing at 1900hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 1st day of June 2015 (works period) or at a time when carriageway maintenance works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the restrictions will only be put in to place effect, between 1900hrs and 2300hrs, during the works period. During the works period vehicle movements on Malton Road will be controlled by two-way traffic signals. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed via Elmfield Avenue, Monkton Road, Victoria Way, Geldof Road, New Lane, Malton Road and vice versa.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
