TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 28th day of May 2015 continuing in force the restrictions in respect of the location numbered (1) and on the said date in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Act made an Order in respect of the location numbered (2).
(1) STRENSALL FOOTPATH NO. 3/4/10, STRENSALL This Order continues in force The Strensall (Strensall Footpath No. 3/4/10) (Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2015 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on 29th day of May 2015. This is necessary to ensure that when river bank improvement works are being undertaken thereon can continue to be carried out safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in thatlength of closed footpath, known as Strensall Footpath No 3/4/10 between its junction with Sheriff Hutton Road and a point 250 metres north west of the said junction (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 30th day of May 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 12th day of June 2015 or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed.
(2) ELMFIELD AVENUE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Elmfield Avenue, York between its junction with Malton Road and a point 50 metres north west from the said junction (closed road) during the period when carriageway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 1900hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 1st day of June 2015 or on a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will be put into effect, between 1900hrs and 2300hrs, during the works period. During the works period vehicle movements on Malton Road will be controlled by two-way traffic signals. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed via Elmfield Avenue, Monkton Road, Victoria Way, Geldof Road, New Lane, Malton Road and vice versa. The above temporary Order will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will it prohibitaccess to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
