CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 23rd day of July 2015 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends tomakean OrderunderSection 14(1)oftheActinrespectofthelocationnumbered(4).
(1) CARR LANE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Carr Lane, York (closed road) during a period commencing at 0001hrs on 27th day of July 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on 2nd day of August 2015 (works period) or at a time and date when water main replacement works and gas mains works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for the diverted traffic will be available via York Road, The Green, Wetherby Road, Beckfield Lane, Boroughbridge Road and vice versa.
(2) MILL MOUNT, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Mill Mount, York (closed road) during a period commencing at 0001hrs on 1st day of August 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on 8th day of August 2015 (works period) or at a time and date when gas main replacement works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) GROSVENOR ROAD, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from waiting from 10am to 10pm in unrestricted lengths on the south side of Grosvenor Road, York between its junctions with Bootham Crescent and the service road to Grosvenor Park (restricted road) and, in addition, the Order imposes a prohibition on vehicles from proceeding between the said times in the restricted road during the period from 25th day of July 2015 to 31st day of May 2016. This is because of the likelihood of danger arising. It is envisaged that the restrictions and prohibition will only be put in place on the occasion of a football match or sporting event at the adjacent football stadium and only for such period within the specified times as is necessary to ensure safety. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via: Burton Stone Lane, Clifton, Bootham Crescent and vice versa.
(4) FRIARGATE. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Friargate, York between its junction with Castlegate and the north western property boundary of Friends' Meeting House (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 3rd day of August 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 21st day of March 2016 (works period) or at a time when nearby building maintenance works being undertaken adjacent to the closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Friargate is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
