CITY OF YORK COUNCIL
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 13th day of August 2015 in respect of the location numbered (1). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section14(1)oftheActin respectofeachofthelocationsnumbered(2),(3),(4)and(5).
(1) STRAYLANDS GROVE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Straylands Grove, York (closed road) during a period commencing at 0001hrs on 17th day of August 2015 and endingat2400hrson28thdayofAugust2015(worksperiod)oratatimeanddatewhen gas main replacement works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed via Malton Road, Stockton Lane, Woodlands Grove and vice versa.
(2) MILL LANE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the north west bound traffic lane of Mill Lane between its junctions with Heworth Green and John Street (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 24th day of August 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 28th day of August 2015 (works period) or at a time when gas works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. During the works period vehicle movements on Heworth Green and Dodsworth Avenue will be controlled by three-way traffic signals. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed via Mill Lane, East Parade, Heworth Road and Heworth Green.
(3) WEST END, STRENSALL This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footway on the east side of West End, Strensall between its junction with York Road and the northern property boundary of No. 2 West End, Strensall (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 24th day of August 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 30th day of August 2015 or on a date when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed.
(4) SOUTH LANE, HAXBY

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in South Lane, Haxby (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 24th day of August 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 4th day of September 2015 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) DALE'S LANE, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Dale's Lane, York between its junctions with Heworth and Harrison Street (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 31st day of August 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 7th day of September 2015 (works period) or at a time when gas main replacement works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for the diverted traffic will be available via Heworth,Heworth Village, Hempland Lane, Hempland Avenue, Oakland Avenue and Harrison Street.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
