TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 17^th day of September 2015 in respect of the location numbered (1). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (2), (3) and (4).
(1) GLADSTONE STREET, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Gladstone Street, York (closed road) during the period when water connection works are being undertaken that period commencing at 0800hrs on the 21^st day of September 2015 and ending at 1800hrs on the 25^th day of September 2015 or on at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) BOOTHAM LEVEL CROSSING, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Bootham Level Crossing on Wigginton Road, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 2200hrs on 26^th day of September 2015 and ending at 0640hrs on the 5^th day of October 2015 or at time when track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Wigginton Road, Haxby Road, A1237, Wigginton Road and vice versa. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect during overnight periods, between the following times and dates: 2200hrs on Saturday 26^th September till 0600hrs on Sunday 27^th September; 2310hrs on Sunday 4^th October till 0640hrs on Monday 5^th October.
(3) LOW PETERGATE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Low Petergate, York between its junctions with Grape Lane and Church Street (closed road) during the period commencing at 1000hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 29^th day of September 2015 (works period) or at a time when fire hydrant renewal works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Low Petergate is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) HAXBY STATION LEVEL CROSSING, HAXBY
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Haxby Station Level Crossing on Station Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period commencing at 2310hrs on 5^th day of October 2015 and ending at 0640hrs on the 6^th day of October 2015 or at time when track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Station Road, Towthorpe Road, Strensall Road, A1237, York Road, Station Road and vice versa. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
