CITY OF YORK COUNCIL
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 24th day of September 2015 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (4) and (5).
(1) BOOTHAM LEVEL CROSSING, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Bootham Level Crossing on Wigginton Road, York (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken that period commencing at 2200hrs on the 26th day of September 2015 and ending at 0640hrs on the 5th day of October 2015 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Wigginton Road, Haxby Road, A1237, Wigginton Road and vice versa. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect during overnight periods, between the following times and dates: 2200hrs on Saturday 3rd October till 0600hrs on Sunday 4th October; 2310hrs on Sunday 4th October till 0640hrs on Monday 5th October.
(2) LOW PETERGATE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Low Petergate, York between its junctions with Grape Lane and Church Street (closed road) during the period when fire hydrant renewal works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 1000hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 29th day of September 2015 (works period) or on a date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Low Petergate is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) HAXBY STATION LEVEL CROSSING, HAXBY
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Haxby Station Level Crossing on Station Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 2310hrs on the 5th day of October 2015 and ending at 0640hrs on the 6th day of October 2015 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Station Road, Towthorpe Road, Strensall Road, A1237, York Road, Station Road and vice versa.
(4) STOCKTON LANE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Stockton Lane, York between its junction with Holtby Lane and a point 170 metres south west of the said junction (closed road) during the period commencing at 1830hrs on the 5th day of October 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 9th day of October 2015 (works period) or at time when carriagewayresurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put in to place, between 1830hrs and 2300hrs on Monday 5th October and Tuesday 6th October during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) HUNTINGTON ROAD, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Huntington Road, York between its junction with The Old Village and a point 150 metres south west of the said junction (closed road) during the period commencing at0915hrs on the 6th dayof October 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 13th day of October 2015 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will onlybe put in to place, between 0915hrs and 1600hrs on Tuesday 6th October during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
