TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 8th day of October 2015 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (6), (7), (8) and (9).
(1) YORK ROAD, STRENSALL
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in York Road, Strensall between its junctions with Middlecroft Grove and Church Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 1800hrs on 13th day of October 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 16th day of October 2015 or on a date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put in to place, between 1800hrs and 2300hrs on Tuesday 13th October and Wednesday 14th October during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) TANG HALL LANE & MAIN AVENUE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Tang Hall Lane, York between its junctions with Melrosegate and Cornborough Avenue (ii) Main Avenue, York between its junction with Melrosegate and the western property boundary of No. 1 Main Avenue (closed road) during a period commencing at 0915hrs on 15th day of October 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on 16th day of October 2015 (works period) or on a date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. During the closure period vehicle movements on Melrosegate will be maintained by temporary traffic light signal control. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via:
(i) Tang Hall Lane, Fourth Avenue, Melrosegate and vice versa;

(ii) Main Avenue, First Avenue, East Parade and vice versa.

(3) STRENSALL NO. 3 LEVEL CROSSING, STRENSALL
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall No. 3 Level Crossing on Lords Moor Lane, Strensall (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 10th day of October 2015 and ending at 0640hrs on the 11th day of October 2015 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via The Village, York Road, Ox Carr Lane, Flaxton Road, Lords Moor Lane and vice versa.
(4) MILL LANE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the south bound traffic lane of Mill Lane, Heworth (closed traffic lane) during the period when telecommunication work being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2100hrs on the 13th day of October 2015 and ending at 0600hrs on the 14th day of October 2015 or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) WATER END, YORK
This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in (i) the footway on the north west side of Water End, York between its junction with Clifton and the south western property boundary of No. 2 Water End, York (closed footpath) and vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (ii) the inner lane of the north east bound traffic lane of Water End between the south western property boundary of No. 17 Clifton Green and its junction with Clifton (closed traffic lane) during the period when footway resurfacing work being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0930hrs on the 12th dayof October 2015 and ending at 1600hrs on the 30th day of October 2015 or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put in to place Monday to Friday, between 0930hrs and 1600hrs during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(6) STRENSALL NO. 3 LEVEL CROSSING, STRENSALL This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall No. 3 Level Crossing on Lords Moor Lane, Strensall (closed road) during the period commencing at 2300hrs on 17th day of October 2015 and ending at 0900hrs on the 1st day of November 2015 or at time when track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via The Village, York Road, Ox Carr Lane, Flaxton Road, Lords Moor Lane and vice versa. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect during overnight periods, on the following times and dates: 2300hrs on Saturday 17th October till 0900hrs on Sunday 18th October; 2300hrs on Saturday 24th October till 0900hrs on Sunday 25th October; 2300hrs on Saturday 31st October till 0900hrs on Sunday 1st November.
(7) KING STREET, YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding and vehicles from proceeding and waiting in King Street, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on the 19th day of October 2015 and ending at 1700hrs on the 6th day of November 2015 or on a date when footway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put in to place Monday to Friday, between 0930hrs and 1600hrs during the works period. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed.
(8) MILL LANE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the north west bound traffic lane of Mill Lane between its junctions with Heworth Green and John Street (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 19th day of October 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 23rd day of October 2015 (works period) or at a time when gas works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. During the works period vehicle movements on Heworth Green and Dodsworth Avenue will be controlled by three-way traffic signals. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed via Mill Lane, East Parade, Heworth Road and Heworth Green.
(9) KATHRYN AVENUE, YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in Kathryn Avenue between its junctions with access road to F1 Karting and is northern access to Monks Cross Car Park, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 19th day of October 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 18th day of April 2017 or on a date when nearby stadium demolition and reconstruction works being undertaken adjacent to the closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
