CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 15th day of October 2015 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to makean OrderunderSection 14(1) oftheActin respectofeachofthelocationsnumbered (6), (7) and (8).
(1) FOSSGATE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Fossgate, York (closed road) during a period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 2000hrs on 18th day of October 2015 (works period) or at a time and date when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) PEASHOLME GREEN, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Peasholme Green, York between its junctions with Foss Island Road and Hungate (closed road) during the period commencing at0900hrs on 18th dayofOctober 2015and ending at1800hrs on the 25th day of October 2015 or on a date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put in to place, between 0900hrsand 1800hrs on Sunday18th October and Sunday25th October during theworks period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) STRENSALL NO. 3 LEVEL CROSSING, STRENSALL This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall No. 3 Level Crossing on Lords Moor Lane, Strensall (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 17th day ofOctober 2015and endingat0900hrsonthe1th dayofNovember2015oratatimewhen the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via The Village, York Road, Ox Carr Lane, Flaxton Road, Lords Moor Lane and vice versa. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect during overnight periods, on the following times and dates:
2300hrs on Saturday 17th October till 0900hrs on Sunday 18th October; 2300hrs on Saturday 24th October till 0900hrs on Sunday 25thOctober; 2300hrs on Saturday 31st October till 0900hrs on Sunday 1st November.
(4) MILL LANE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the north west bound traffic lane of Mill Lane between its junctions with Heworth Green and John Street (closed traffic lane) during the period when gas work being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 19th day of October 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 23rd day of October 2015 or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. During the works period vehicle movements on Heworth Green and Dodsworth Avenue will be controlled by three-way traffic signals. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed via Mill Lane, East Parade, Heworth Road and Heworth Green.
(5) KATRYN AVENUE, YORK

This Order prohibits pedestrians or vehicles from proceeding in Kathryn Avenue between its junctions with the access road to F1 Karting and is northern access to Monks Cross Car Park, York (closed road) during the period when nearby stadium demolition and reconstructionworksbeingundertakenadjacenttotheclosedroadthatperiodcommencing at0001hrs on the 19th dayof October 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 18th dayofApril 2017 (works period) or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and traffic will be signed during the works period.
(6) MARKET STREET, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Market Street, York between its junctions with Spurriergate and Feasegate (closed road) during the period commencing at1900hrs on the 2nd dayofNovember 2015and ending at0200hrs on the 3rd dayof November 2015 (works period) or at a time when works on a nearbybuilding being undertaken by crane operation from the nearby closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(7) KING STREET, YORK This Order will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding and vehicles from proceeding and waiting in King Street, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on the 2nd day of November 2015 and ending at 1700hrs on the 20th day of November 2015 or on a date when footway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put in to place Monday to Friday, between 0930hrs and 1600hrs during the works period. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed.
(8) HEWORTH ROAD, YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footway on the south west side of Heworth Road, York between its junctions with Heworth Road and Heworth Green (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0900hrs on the 27th dayofOctober 2015and ending at1700hrs on the 29th dayofOctober 2015oron a date when telecommunication works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
