TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 14th day of January 2016 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3) and (4). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (5).
(1) BOOTHAM LEVEL CROSSING, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Bootham Level Crossing on Wigginton Road, York (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 16th day of January 2016 and ending at 0900hrs on the 24th day of January 2016 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Wigginton Road, Haxby Road, A1237, Wigginton Road and vice versa. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect during overnight periods, on the following times and dates: 2300hrs on Saturday 16th January till 0700hrs on Sunday 17th January; 2300hrs on Saturday 23rd January till 0900hrs on Sunday 24th January.
(2) BISHOPTHORPE ROAD, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the north bound traffic lane of Bishopthorpe Road, York between its junctions with Scarcroft Road and Nunnery Lane (closed traffic lane) during the period when footway reconstruction works being undertaken adjacent to the closed traffic lane that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 17th day of January 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 14th day of February 2016 or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect between 0800hrs and 1600hrs on a Saturday and Sunday during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed via Scarcroft Road, The Mount, Blossom Street, Nunnery Lane, Price's Lane and Bishopgate Street.
(3) KENT STREET, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding in a easterly direction in Kent Street, York between its junctions with Fawcett Street and Barbican Road (closed traffic lane) during the period when water works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 18th day of January 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 22th day of January 2016 (works period) or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) NURSERY ROAD, NETHER POPPLETON This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Nursery Road, Nether Poppleton (closed road) during the period when water work being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 18th day of January 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 7th dayof February2016 (works period) or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) SOUTH LANE, HAXBY This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in South Lane, Haxbybetween its junctions with York Road and rear access road to No.'s 8-26 York Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 25th dayof January2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 29th day of January 2016 (works period) or at a time when gas works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in South Lane, Haxby is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
