NOTICE OF MAKING THE YORK SPEED LIMIT (AMENDMENT) (NO 14/7) ORDER 2016

Notice is hereby given that on the 21st day of January 2016 City of York Council, in exercise of powers under Sections 82, 83, 84 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Act, made an Order which has the effect of: Introducing a 20 miles per hour (mph) speed limit in:
(a) Osbaldwick Lane, York between the projected eastern property boundary line of No. 68 Osbaldwick Lane (terminal point of existing 20mph speed limit) and a point 25 metres east from the projected eastern kerbline Hambleton Avenue;

(b) Hambleton Avenue, York between its junction with Osbaldwick Lane and the projected southern property boundary line of No. 2 Hambleton Avenue (terminal point of existing 20mph speed limit);

thereby revoking the existing 30mph speed limit applying in the length of road imposed by virtue of the standard of street lighting.
The Order comes into effect on the 23rd day of January 2016
A copy of the Order incorporating relevant maps can be inspected at the Reception, West Offices, Station Rise, York, during normal business hours. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended or that a requirement of any regulation thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date of making of the Order, Make application for that purpose to the High Court.
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (The Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 21st day of January 2016 in respect of the location below.
(1) SOUTH LANE, HAXBY This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in South Lane, Haxby between its junctions with York Road and rear access road to No.'s 8-26 York Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period when gas works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 25th day of January 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 29th day of January 2016 (works period) or on a date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in South Lane, Haxby is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period. The above temporary Order will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns.
