CITY OF YORK COUNCIL

CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 3rd day of March 2016 amending and continuing in force the restrictions in respect of the location numbered (1) and on the said date in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Act made an Order in respect of each of the locations numbered (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (4), (5), (6), (7)
and (8).

(1) FRIARGATE, YORK

This Order amends The York (Friargate) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2015 (Original Order) by extending the area of closed road to include (i) Friargate, between the north west property boundary line of Friends' Meeting House and its junction with Castlegate the said amendment to be effective from 0001 hours on the 14th day of March 2015 and ending at 2400 hours on the 3rd day of June 2016, thereby also continuing the works period beyond the original end of the works period of 21st day of March 2016.

(2) MURTON WAY, OSBALDWICK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Murton Way, Osbaldwick between its junction with Outgang Lane and a point 170 metres east of the said junction (closed road) during the period when sewer works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 8th day of March 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 10th day of March 2016 (works period) or on a date/time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.

(3) BURTON STONE LANE, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Burton Stone Lane, York between its junctions with Clifton and Grosvenor Road (closed road) during the period when water works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 13th day of March 2016 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.

(4) STATION RISE, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Station Rise, York between its junction with Station Road and a point 15 metres south east of the said junction (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 14th dayof March 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 18th day of March 2016 (works period) or at time when carriagewayremedial works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.

(5) SCARBOROUGH BRIDGE, YORK

This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footbridge (known as Scarborough Bridge) over the River Ouse, (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 2100hrs on the 16th day of March 2016 and ending at 0500hrs on the 17th day of March 2016 (works period) or at a time and date when bridge maintenance works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.


(6) LONGFIELD TERRACE & ALMERY TERRACE

This Orderwill prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length ofroad comprising of Longfield Terrace and Almery Terrace between the northern property boundary of No. 26 Longfield Terrace and the western property boundary of No. 1 Almery Terrace (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 21st day of March 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 24th day of March 2016 (works period) or at a time when flood defence works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

(7) POTTERY LANE, STRENSALL

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Pottery Lane, Strensall between its junctions with Sheriff Hutton Road and Forest Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 0900hrs and ending at 1600hrs on the 22nd day of March 2016 (works period) or at time when works to clear vegetation from the overhead power lines have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.

(8) MILL LANE, HEWORTH

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the south bound traffic lane of Mill Lane, Heworth (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 0930hrs on the 22nd day of March 2016 and ending at 1530hrs on the 24th day ofMarch 2016 (works period) or at a time when telecommunication works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect between 0930hrs and 1530hrs, during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
