CITY OF YORK COUNCIL

CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 28th day of April 2016 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1) and (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (3) and (4).
(1) KNAVESMIRE. YORK
This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in: (a)Green Lane Footpath No. 46/26, (b)York Footpath No. 46/30
to the extent that the said footpaths extend across the width of the Knavesmire Racecourse exceptthatthis prohibition will notapplytoapedestrian or vehicle proceeding other than during a period when a horse race is in progress. This is to ensure the safety of users. Manned barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibition at the respective locations. The Order will come into effect on the 11th day of May 2016 and end on the 31st day of October 2016.
(2) A19 & FORDLANDS ROAD, YORK
This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footway on (i) A19 (Main Street, Fulford/Selby Road, York) York, between its junction with Fordlands Road and the north eastern property boundary line of Stonebridge House and (ii) Fordlands Road, York, between the projected northern property boundary line of No. 151 Main Street, Fulford and a point 120 metres south of the said line (closed footpaths) during the period when carriageway construction works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 2nd day of May 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 30th day of January 2017 (works period) or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. During the works period the prohibition will only be in place on one side of each footpath at one time, with the opposite footpath been used as an alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles. It is envisaged that the restrictions will be put in place on each side of each road between the following dates:
Monday2nd May2016 and Monday5th September 2016 for the eastern footpath on the A19 and the western footpath on Fordlands Road,
Tuesday6th September 2016 and Monday30thJanuary2017for the western footpath on the A19 and the eastern footpath on Fordlands Road.
(3) BURTON STONE LANE, YORKThis Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Burton Stone Lane between its junctions with Clifton and Grosvenor Road (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 15th day of May 2016 (works period) or at time when water works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is toensurethatthesaidworks can becarried outsafely. An alternativeroutefor diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(4) PARLIAMENT STREET & HIGH OUSEGATE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Parliament Street, York between the north western property boundary of No. 5 Parliament Street and its junction with High Ousegate and (ii) High Ousegate, York between its junction with Parliament Street and the south western property boundary of No. 14 High Ousegate (closed road) during the period commencing at 2100hrs on the 18th day of May 2016 and ending at 0600hrsonthe19th dayofMay2016(worksperiod) oratatimewhen workson anearby building being undertaken by crane operation from the nearby closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Parliament Street and High Ousegate is suspended during the works period to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
