TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 12th day of May 2016 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (4), (5), (6), (7), (8) and (9).
(1) BURTON STONE LANE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Burton Stone Lane between its junctions with Clifton and Grosvenor Road (closed road) during the period when water works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 15th day of May 2016 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(2) PARLIAMENT STREET & HIGH OUSEGATE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Parliament Street, York between the north western property boundary of No. 5 Parliament Street and its junction with High Ousegate (ii) High Ousegate, York between its junction with Parliament Street and the south western property boundary of No. 14 High Ousegate (closed road) during the period when nearby building works being undertaken by crane operation from the closed road, that period commencing at 2100hrs on the 18th day of May2016 and ending at 0600hrs on the 19th day of May 2016 (works period) or on a date/time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Parliament Street and High Ousegate is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) HOLTBY TO CHAPEL BUTT GATE, HOLTBY This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Holtby to Chapel Butt Gate, Holtby between its junctions with Main Street, Holtby and Rudcarr Lane (closed road) during the period when telecommunication works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0930hrs on the 18th day of May 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 20th day of May 2016 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(4) ASKHAM FIELDS LANE, ASKHAM BRYAN This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Askham Fields Lane between its junctions with York Road and Main Street, Askham Bryan (closed road) during the period commencing at 0930hrs on the 23rd day of May 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 27th day of May 2016 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) HIGH PETERGATE. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in High Petergate, York between its junctions with St Leonard's Place and Duncombe Place (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on the 23rd day of May 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 27th day of May 2016 (works period) or at time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in High Petergate is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(6) EASTFIELD LANE, DUNNINGTON This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Eastfield Lane, Dunnington between its junctions with HollyTree Lane and Stamford Bridge Road (A166) (closed road) during the period commencing at 1830hrs on the 23rd day of May 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 24th day of May 2016 (works period) or at a time when telecommunication works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect between 1830hrs and 2300hrs on each night during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period via Eastfield Lane, Church Balk, Stamford Bridge Road and vice versa.
(7) LOWER PRIORY STREET, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Lower Priory Street, York between its junctions with Fetter Lane and Priory Street (closed road) during the period commencing at 0900hrs on the 23rd day of May 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 27th day of May 2016 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, parking will be suspended on the south west side of Lower Priory Street, York between its junction with Dewsbury Terrace and a point 23 metres south east of the said junction. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(8) HESLINGTON LANE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Heslington Lane, York between its junction with Broadway and the south western property boundary line of No 155 Heslington Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 0915hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 24th day of May 2016 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(9) MILL LANE, RUFFORTH This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Mill Lane, Rufforth (closed road) during the period commencing at 1900hrs on the 23rd dayofMay2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 24th day of May 2016 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that theclosurewill onlybeputintoeffectbetween 1900hrsand 2300hrs on eachnightduring the works period. During the works period vehicle movements on WetherbyRoad (B1223) will be controlled by two-way traffic signals. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
