CITY OF YORK COUNCIL NOTICE OF MAKING THE YORK TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT (AMENDMENT) (NO 14/1) ORDER 2016
Notice is hereby given that on the 26th day of May 2016 City of York Council, in exercise of powers under Sections 1, 2, 4 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Act, made an Order which has the effect of:
1. Amending Exemption 49 of the First Schedule of the City of York Traffic Management Order 2014 which permits a Disabled Person's Vehicle displaying a Disabled Person's Badge and being used for the conveyance of a Disabled Person which lawfully entered a road in the Footstreet Areas of central York (other than one of those roads and lengths of road in the Schedule below which currently form corridors for such use throughout a Pedestrian Period) before Noon on a Sunday to proceed between noon and 1pm by the most direct route in Order to exit the Footstreets Area the said 'entry' and 'exit' times being amended to ones of '10.30am' and 'between 10.30am and 1pm' respectively to accord with the recently extended daily Pedestrian Period.

(a) Castlegate

(b) Blake Street, St Helen's Square, Lendal

(c) Goodramgate, Kings Square, St Andrewgate from the highway boundary line on the north east side of Colliergate for 50 Metres, Colliergate

2. Amending the traffic regulations to accurately reflect, confirm and formalise the designation of the former Newgate Market, York as the "Shambles Market".

The Order comes into effect on 28th day of May 2016.
A copy of the Order incorporating relevant maps can be inspected at the Reception, West Offices, Station Rise, York, during normal business hours. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended or that a requirementofanyregulation thereunderhasnotbeen complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date of making of the Order, make application for that purpose to the High Court.
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONSNotice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 26th day of May 2016 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (4) and (5).
(1) THE GREEN, ACOMB
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in The Green, Acomb between the projected eastern property boundary line of No. 2 The Green, Acomb and its junction with St Stephens Mews (closed road) during the period when water works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 31st day of May 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 3rd day of June 2016 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(2) BACKHOUSE STREET, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Backhouse Street, York (closed road) during the period when electricity works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 31st day of May 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 6thdayofJune 2016 (worksperiod) orata timewhen the works havebeen completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(3) UPPER NEWBOROUGH STREET, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Upper Newborough Street, York (closed road) during the period when water works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at0001hrs on the 6th dayofJune 2016 and ending at2400hrson the 24th day of June 2016 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(4) LONGFEILD TERRACE & ALMERY TERRACE, YORKThis Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road comprising of Longfield Terrace and Almery Terrace between the northern property boundary of No. 26 Longfield Terrace and the western property boundary of No. 1 Almery Terrace (closed road) during the period commencing at0001hrs on the 13th dayofJune 2016and ending at2400hrsonthe17thdayofJune2016(worksperiod) oratatimewhen water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) PEASHOLME GREEN, YORKThis Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Peasholme Green, York between its junctions with Foss Island Road and Hungate (closed road) during the period commencing at 0900hrs and ending at 1800hrs on the 19th day of June 2016 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
