TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 4th day of August 2016 continuing in force the restrictions in respect of the location numbered (1)and onthesaiddatein exerciseofpowersunder Section 14(1) oftheAct made an Order in respect of the location numbered (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (3), (4), (5), (6), (7) and (8)
(1) SHIPTON STREET, YORK
This Order continues in force The York (Shipton Street) (Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2016 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on 5th August 2016. This is necessary to ensure that water works being undertaken thereon can continue to be carried out safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Shipton Street, York (closed road) during the period commencing at0001 hours on the 6th dayofAugust 2016 and ending at2400hrs on the 12th day of August 2016 or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) MILLFIELD LANE, NETHER POPPLETON
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Nether Poppleton Level Crossing, Millfield Lane, Nether Poppleton (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2200hrs onthe6thdayofAugust2016andendingat1100hrsonthe4thdayofSeptember2016or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. The prohibition on traffic (other than local buses) at the junction of Millfield Lane and Low Poppleton Lane will be suspended during the periods when the prohibition at the crossing is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Low Poppleton Lane, A59 Boroughbridge Road, A1237 York Outer Ring Road, Link Road between the A1237 and Millfield Lane and vice versa. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect during overnight periods, on the following times and dates:
2200hrs on Saturday 6th August till 1100hrs on Sunday 7th August; 2300hrs on Saturday 13th August till 0900hrs on Sunday 14th August; 2200hrs on Saturday 20th August till 1100hrs on Sunday 21st August; 2200hrs on Saturday 3rd September till 1100hrs on Sunday 4th September.
(3) SIXTH AVENUE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Sixth Avenue, York between its junctions with Third Avenue and the access road to Poplar Tree Gardens (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 22nd day of August 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 26th day of August 2016 (work period) or at time when new water connection works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(4) BAD BARGAIN LANE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Bad Bargian Lane, York between its junctions with Burnholme and Meadlands (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on the 15th day August 2016 and ending at 1700hrs on the 19th day of August 2016 (worksperiod) or at time when carriagewayresurfacing worksbeing undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) HUNTINGTON ROAD/HAMBLETON WAY, YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footway connecting Huntington Road and Hambleton Way, York (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 22nd day of August 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 2nd day of September 2016 or on a date when footpath reconstruction works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed.
(6) HOLTBY TO CHAPEL BUTT GATE, HOLTBY
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Holtby to Chapel Butt Gate, Holtby between its junctions with Main Street, Holtby and Rudcarr Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 0930hrs on the 23rd day of August 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 25th day of August 2016 (works period) or at time when telecommunication works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(7) OXFORD STREET, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Oxford Street, York (closedroad)during the period commencing at 0800hrs on the 23rd day August 2016and ending at1530hrs on the 26thday of August 2016(worksperiod) or at time when sewer works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(8) COPMANTHORPE NO.2 FOOT CROSSING, COPMANTHORPE
This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding over Copmanthorpe No.2 (Railway) Foot Crossing, Copmanthorpe (closed footpath) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2100hrs on the 27th day of August 2016 and ending at 1000hrs on the 11th day of September 2016 or on a date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect during overnight periods, on the following times and dates:
2100hrs on Saturday 27th August till 1000hrs on Sunday 28th August;
2100hrs on Saturday3rd September till 1000hrs on Sunday4th September;
2100hrson Saturday10thSeptember till 1000hrson Sunday11thSeptember.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
