CITY OF YORK COUNCIL

CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council) not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), intends to make an Order in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3) and (4).
(1) STRENSALL FOOTPATH NO. 3/4/10, STRENSALL

This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of closed footpath, known as Strensall Footpath No 3/4/10 between its junction with Sheriff Hutton Road, Strensall and a point 250 metres north west of the said junction (closed footpaths) during the period when river bank improvement works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on 30th day of August 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 16th day of September 2016 or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available via Sheriff Hutton Road, New Lane and vice versa.
(2) STRENSALL NO. 1 LEVEL CROSSING, STRENSALL

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall No. 1 Level Crossing on York Road, Strensall (closed road) during the period commencing at 2300hrs on 30th dayofAugust2016and ending at0600hrson the 31stdayofAugust2016orattimewhen track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via York Road, Ox Carr Lane, Moor Lane, Princess Road, York Road and vice versa.
(3) AVENUE TERRACE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Avenue Terrace, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 30th day of August 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 26th day of September 2016 (works period) or at time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) COMPTON STREET/ROSSLYN STREET/GROVE VIEW, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Compton Street, York (ii) Rosslyn Street, York and (iii) Grove View, York (closed road) during the period commencing at0001hrs on the 14th dayofSeptember 2016 and ending at2400hrs on the 11th dayof October 2016 (works period) or at time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
