TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 29th day of September 2016 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (4).
(1) POTTERY LANE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Pottery Lane, York (closed road) during the period when sewer works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 3rd day of October 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 28th dayof October 2016 (works period) or ata time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) BOOTHAM LEVEL CROSSING, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Bootham Level Crossing on Wigginton Road, York (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 5th day of October 2016 and ending at 0600hrs on the 6th day of October 2016 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Wigginton Road, Haxby Road, A1237, Wigginton Road and vice versa.
(3) CHURCH LANE, DUNNINGTON This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Church Lane, Dunnington between its junctions with York Road and Pear Tree Lane (closed road) during the period when gas works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 6th day of October 2016 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is toensure thatthe said workscan be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) BOOTHAM. GILLYGATE & ST LEONARD'S PLACE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of (i) Bootham, York between its junctions with Gillygate and Bootham Row (ii) Gillygate, York between its junction with St Leonard's Place and the northern property boundary of Millers Yard and (iii) St Leonard's Place, York between its junction with Gillygate and the northern property boundary of No. 9 St Leonard's Place (closed road) during the period commencing at 1900hrs on the 17th dayofOctober 2016 and ending at2400hrs on the 21stdayofOctober 2016 (works period) or at time when resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is toensure thatthe said workscan be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put in to effect during an overnight period, between 1900hrs and 0500hrs on the first two nights during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns.
