TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 6th day of October 2016 in respect of the location numbered (1). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8),
(9) and (10).
(1) METCALFE LANE-MEAD LANDS, YORK
This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of cycle path connecting Metcalfe Lane and Meadlands (closed cycle lane) during the period when nearby property construction works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 8th day of October 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 3rd day of April 2017 or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(2) CAMPLESHON ROAD, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Campleshon Road, York between its junction with Trafalgar Street and the western property boundary line of No. 34 Campleshon Road (closed road) during the period commencing at 0700hrs on the 24th day of October 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 28th day of October 2016 (work period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect for one day during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) HESLINGTON ROAD/UNIVERSITY ROAD, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road connecting Heslington Road and University Road, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 24th day of October 2016 or at a time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted vehicles will be available during the works period.
(4) MOOR LANE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Moor Lane, York between its junctions with A1237 and Cairnborrow (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 24th day of October 2016 (work period) or attime when carriagewayresurfacing works being undertaken thereon havebeen completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) HUNTINGTON ROAD, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Huntington Road, York between its junctions with Brockfield Road and Link Road (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 24th day of October 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 28th day of October 2016 (work period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(6) ROWAN AVENUE, NEW EARSWICK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of the west bound traffic lane of Rowan Avenue, New Earswick between its junction with Haxby Road and the north western property boundary line of No. 57 Haxby Road, New Earswick (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 0930hrs and ending at 1530hrs on the 25th day of October 2016 (works period) or at time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period. During the works period vehicle movements on Haxby Road will be controlled by two-way traffic signals.
(7) QUEEN VICTORIA STREET & KNAVESMIRE CRESCENT, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of (i) Queen Victoria Street, York between its junctions with Curzon Terrace and Albemarle Road and (ii) Knavesmire Crescent, York from its junction with Queen Victoria Street north for the remainder of its length (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 27th day of October 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 29th day of October 2016 (works period) or at time when resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(8) FULFORDGATE & EASTWARD AVENUE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Fulfordgate, York and (ii) Eastward Avenue, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 27th day of October 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 28th day of October 2016 (works period) or at time when speed hump reconstruction works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is toensure thatthe said workscan be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(9) AVENUE TERRACE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Avenue Terrace, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 24th day of October 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 1st day of November 2016 (works period) or at time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(10) CHURCH STREET & LOW GREEN, COPMANTHORPE This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road comprising of Church Street and Low Green, Copmanthorpe between its pedestrian access to St Giles Church and vehicle access to Copmanthorpe Primary School (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 24th day of October 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 28th day of October 2016 (works period) or at a time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. During the works period vehicle movements will be controlled by two-way traffic signals between Low Green and Merchant Way. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions. For further information in respect of each location please contact:
