TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 13th day of October 2016 amending and continuing in force the restrictions in respect of the location numbered (1) and on the said date in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Act made an Order in respect of the location numbered (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order underSection 14(1) oftheActin respectofeach ofthelocations numbered (3), (4) and (5).
(1) WINDSOR GARTH, ACOMB This Order amends and continues The Acomb (Windsor Garth) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2016(original Order) thatOrder having an expirydate on 14th October 2016. This is necessary to ensure that carriageway improvement works being undertaken thereon can continue to be carried out safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Windsor Garth, Acomb between its junction with Woodford Place and the north eastern property boundary line to No 31 Windsor Garth (closed road) and by extending the area of closed road to include Hob Stone Court, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001 hoursonthe15th dayofOctober 2016andending at2400hrs on the 11th dayofNovember 2016 or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. It is envisaged that the works will be undertaken in 2 phases, between the following dates:
(a) Hob StoneCourt, York between 15th October and 28th October 2016and

(b) Windsor Garth, York between 3rd November and 11th November 2016.

(2) BOOTHAM. GILLYGATE & ST LEONARD'S PLACE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of (i) Bootham, York between its junctions with Gillygate and Bootham Row (ii) Gillygate, York between its junction with St Leonard's Place and the northern property boundary of Millers Yard and (iii) St Leonard's Place, York between its junction with Gillygate and the northern property boundary of No. 9 St Leonard's Place (closed road) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 1900hrs on the 17th dayofOctober 2016and ending at2400hrs on the 21stdayofOctober 2016or on a date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged thatthe closure will onlybe put in to place during an overnight period, between 1930hrs and 0500hrs on the first two nights during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) BAD BARGAIN LANE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Bad Bargain Lane, York between its junctions with Burnholme Drive and Stray Road (closed road) during the period commencing at0001hrs on the 24th dayofOctober 2016and endingat2400hrs on the 28th dayof October 2016 (work period) or at time when carriagewayresurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) STRENSALL NO. 1 LEVEL CROSSING. STRENSALL This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall No. 1 Level Crossing on York Road, Strensall (closed road) during the period commencing at 2300hrs on 29th day of October 2016 and ending at 0850hrs on the 30th day of October 2016 or at time when track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via York Road, Ox Carr Lane, Moor Lane, Princess Road, York Road and vice versa.
(5) ROUGIER STREET. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the north west bound traffic lane of Rougier Street, York between its junctions with Tanner Row and Station Road (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 2100hrs on the 1st day of November 2016 and ending at 0600hrs on the 2nd day of November 2016 (work period) or at time when carriageway improvement works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
