TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 27th day of October 2016 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to makeanOrderunderSection 14(1)oftheActinrespectofeachofthelocationsnumbered (4), (5) and (6).
(1) STRENSALL NO. 1 LEVEL CROSSING, STRENSALL
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall No. 1 Level Crossing on York Road, Strensall (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 29th day of October 2016andendingat0850hrsonthe30thdayofOctober2016oronatatimewhentheworks have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via York Road, Ox Carr Lane, Moor Lane, Princess Road, York Road and vice versa.
(2) ROUGIER STREET, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of the north west bound traffic lane of Rougier Street, York between its junctions with Tanner Row and Station Road (closed traffic lane) during the period when carriageway improvement works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2100hrs on the 1st day of November 2016 and ending at 0600hrs on the 2nd day of November 2016 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(3) QUEEN VICTORIA STREET & KNAVESMIRE CRESCENT, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of (i) Queen Victoria Street, York between its junctions with Curzon Terrace and Albemarle Road and (ii) Knavesmire Crescent, York from its junction with Queen Victoria Street north for the remainder of its length (closed road) during the period when carriagewayresurfacing works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 31st day of October 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 4th day of November 2016 or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(4) STATION RISE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Station Rise, York between its junction with Station Road and a point 20 metres south east of the said junction (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 14th day of November 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 25th day of November 2016 (works period) or at time when carriageway remedial works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(5) BURTON STONE LANE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Burton Stone Lane between its junctions with Clifton and Grosvenor Road (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 14th day of November 2016 and ending at 2400hrs on the 20th day of November 2016 (works period) or at time when water works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(6) MILLFIELD LANE, NETHER POPPLETON This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through Nether Poppleton Level Crossing, Millfield Lane, Nether Poppleton (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2200hrs on the 15th day ofNovember 2016 and ending at0700hrs on the 16thdayofNovember 2016or on adate when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. The prohibition on traffic (other than local buses) at the junction of Millfield Lane and Low Poppleton Lane will be suspended during the periods when the prohibition at the crossing is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Low Poppleton Lane, A59 Boroughbridge Road, A1237 York Outer Ring Road, Link Road between the A1237 and Millfield Lane and vice versa. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions. For further information in respect of each location please contact:
