Twenty Five (York) Ltd was established by three colleagues, who wanted to create a business that was forward thinking, innovative, professionally exceeding expectations and above all, people friendly.
The firm is an innovative, multi-disciplined principal contractor and management company, providing services throughout the UK to support construction and fit-out clients.
It hit the market in September 2017 and was overwhelmed with the support received from its contacts in client teams. Subcontractors and suppliers so generous that wherever the firms are now working in the UK, all orders go through the York branches to keep as much of its national business local.
Its first project was in Moor Monkton and since then it has worked for clients such as GANT to undertake their UK refurbishments, and complete Stratford City, Guildford, Bluewater, Edinburgh and a new shell fit-out at Glasgow.
In April it was approached by Debenhams to undertake major refurbishment of their London Oxford Street store. The led to Twenty Five doing the site project management and 67 fitting rooms have gone through the joiners shop.
It is now hoping to secure two Press Business awards - Small Business of the Year and Employer of the Year.
A company spokesman said: “The atmosphere is vibrant, noisy, and one of pulling together to get the job done,
“There is a major shortage of skills in our area and we need to invest and develop the next generation. Our Saturday boy, Harry, is lined up for a cabinetry apprenticeship for September 2020 through college and invaluable mentoring from our staff.
“Our staff are our business and we take a co-operative approach. We are all partners in Twenty Five. We encourage openness, learning from others, being a part of a team, training, fun, and team days - most recently rally driving at Blyton.
“We exceed industry standards and investment per head in training.
“We constantly review what we are doing and how we are doing it. Our determination is to grow the business organically to ensure the security of our employees who have been so loyal to us in their belief and trust of Twenty Five. Our people are our greatest asset. Our profitability and security is only gained through their empowerment, self-belief, enjoyment and passion.”
