IT is a case of wall-to-wall success for a Malton firm which manufactures vinyl stickers.

Wall Glamour, based in Rye Close, on the York Road Industrial Park, is celebrating its birthday with the news that its turnover has increased six-fold in the past 36 months – from £30,000 to £180,000.

Now managing director Rick Jesse is laying claim to the Small Business Of The Year title in The Press Business Awards 2010.

He says the designs of stickers it sells via its website, surged with the slowdown in the property market as people – and interior designers – found new ways of improving their homes. There was also an upsurge in the commercial sector, especially in healthcare.

Wall Glamour’s major clients this year have included St James’s Hospital, Leeds, The Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle as well as the Teenage Cancer Trust. “We seem to have tapped into a niche market,” said Rick, whose products have recently appeared in television programmes such as 60-Minute Makeover and Britain’s Next Top Model.
