THEY call themselves “mumpreneurs”. York retailers Ruth Holden-Harris, owner of Zak&Flo, in Bishopthorpe, and Heather Booth, owner of Expecting, in Gillygate, together launched Parent Power Card.
It is a loyalty card scheme shared by 11 independent stores in the city, a “virtual department store” dedicated to serving parents, children and parents-to-be.
And with 250 customers signing up to the Parent Power Card scheme in its first six months since it was launched by the Lord Mayor of York, the mumpreneurs are now pitching for the Women In Enterprise title and the New Business Of The Year accolade in our Business Awards 2010.
Each of the participating retailers offers different incentives, ranging from discounts, gift vouchers, special packages and free delivery, while seasonal or ongoing offers are shown on the upcoming events page of their dedicated website at parentpowercard.com
The 11 organisations participated are Bailey Cooper Photography, Bubbles Toys, Exclusive Footwear, Expecting Maternity, Floral Elegance, Jeunesse, Make An Impression, Paul Stride, Ruby Slipper, Stratford Nappies and Zak&Flo.
