COMPANIES entering The Press Business Awards 2010 are appealing to York’s sweet tooth and using their delicious fares to entice judges.

One of these is Giftag Chocolate Box, whose owners Jane and Graham Golisti set up their first shop in Thirsk last year and now have a second in Fossgate, York.

Giftag Chocolate Box sells locally-produced confectionery including chocolate shoes like these, right, made in the Yorkshire Dales, plus White Horse fudge that Graham makes himself in the Fossgate premises.

“From a standing start to have two shops up and running in today’s climate is an achievement in itself,” said Graham, who has entered the New Business Of The Year Category.

Another mouthwatering entrant is Krystal’s Chocolicious, which provides chocolate fountains for events, such as weddings.

Krystal Dominique Talmadge set up the business a year ago and already has weddings booked until December 2012.

The 24-year-old is entering the Young Entrepreneur Of The Year and Small Business Of The Year categories.
