CARBON Neutral Hosting offers web hosting with a twist.
The Pickering-based company has recognised that both it and its customers should do something to offset its CO2 emissions.
So it has linked up with Harrogate-based charity the United Bank of Carbon (UBOC), which formulates schemes to help businesses come up with green solutions.
Now those who have their websites hosted by Carbon Neutral Hosting are offered an opportunity to whittle down their CO2 emissions by taking part in a UBOC scheme, such as getting their audiences to spend £10 on promoting tree planting in Uganda.
As a result, Carbon Neutral Hosting is pitching for both the Small Business Of The Year and the Think Green title in The Press Business Awards 2010.
Andrew Rouph, director/partner of Carbon Neutral Hosting, said: “Through UBOC, we have already accounted for our own CO2 emissions and we would like everyone else to take that same small step to ‘thinking green’.”
