DIGITAL Invoicing Ltd, based at the York Eco Business Centre in Clifton Moor, was created with one aim in mind.

Namely, to provide a software tool which would help freelancers, sole traders and small businesses to take control of their cash flow quickly, efficiently and without the need for extensive training or big expense.

Now its co-directors, Timothy Moore and Robert Doran who devised the system, its website and marketing material, are seeking both The Small Business Of The Year and Science & Technology Business Of The Year titles Timothy said: “We consider Digital Invoicing to be the antidote to accountancy software. It’s not there to replace accountants who are highly trained to provide a professional service in a variety of areas.

“Digital Invoicing is a tool to help you manage your business – to spend less time on administration and more on the ‘real’ work.

“In a matter of minutes you can be doing anything from raising invoices to tracking time, creating quotes and managing your mileage while all the time presenting a credible, professional image to your clients.”

Being web-based, the invoicing solution can be securely accessed from anywhere with an internet connection.

“Many people we spoke to had lost their accounts data at one time or another because the system they used was installed on a single computer, which then was either damaged, stolen or in one case, left on a train,” said Timothy.

After securing investment capital from the Whyte Knight Fund, which offers matched loans for new ventures, the business moved into the York Eco Business Centre in Amy Johnson Way, Clifton Moor, and took on a post-graduate intern from the University of York.

A redesign of the firm’s branding has coincided with the launch a new affiliation scheme. Anyone who joins the scheme can earn extra revenue by recommending Digital Invoicing to business contacts.
