In the evening, a consultation for businesses on the City of York Council budget will be held to seek businesses’ views, ideas, concerns and priorities as the council finalises its 2014/15 budget following cuts from central government which mean the council must make savings of more than £9 million in 2013/14 and £12 million in 2014/15.

The event, from 5pm to 7pm, will also outline the budget-setting process and the challenges and opportunities faced in delivering it.

Representations can be made by email to budget@york.gov.uk, Twitter @CityofYork or Facebook.
