RETAILERS in Boroughbridge have created a St Valentine’s Day passport to encourage people to use local independent shops.
The passport gives a ten per cent discount on Valentine’s gifts and anyone who buys something from at least three of the shops will qualify for a free prize draw.
Barbara Lambert Hill, president of Boroughbridge Chamber of Trade, said the scheme was a great way to further boost the economy of a busy market town.
She said: “We hope anyone who hasn’t visited us before will be impressed with the friendly service and unique shops we have here in Boroughbridge and will want to keep coming back throughout the year.”
