BUSINESSES in York are gearing up for the tenth year of science and technology exhibition Venturefest.
The event, which has been “presented” with a birthday cake by accountants Garbutt & Elliott, is expected to attract about 1,500 people to York Racecourse on Thursday.
This year businesses with designs on success will find out just what impact design can have on their business at Venturefest.
Design Differentiates, part of a York Professionals focus on supporting enterprise through the stories of business owners, will be a question-and-answer session featuring York enterrprises which have excelled through design.
LuLin Teas, accompanied by agency United By Design; Rudgate Brewery, accompanied by Lazenby Brown; Physio-Control, accompanied by The Ideas Group; and NiteSite Ltd, accompanied by LTD Design, will all tell their design stories at the event.
Ed Reid, owner of peer-to-peer business support group The Alternative Board (York), will host a second question-and-answer event on exit strategies, with case studies including Seggy Segaran, owner of Tele-Products Ltd, Andy Gambles, owner of ServerTastic and Jane Harrison from YorLab.
The Press will also be distributing the York Report, the comprehensive annual guide to the city’s economy at the event.
