A TRIP by York conference venue representatives to London has proved so popular that more than 200 event buyers wanted to take part.
Laura Freer, business tourism manager for Visit York, is taking 21 conference venues and members of York Hoteliers’ Association to meet buyers from across Europe, London and the south of England.
She said the event was so oversubscribed they had to turn buyers away.
VisitYork4Meeting’s York Minster to Westminster business tourism showcase will take place at the Houses of Parliament and the new five-star Intercontinental Westminster Hotel on March 13.
They have been able to accommodate 70 buyers and will definitely hold another event in London, said Laura.
“The buyers we are bringing in will book business in York. We have already had inquiries generated on the back of the coverage we have had for the event,” she said.
Conference buyers from London will also be brought back to York, courtesy of East Coast, to experience the different elements of business tourism, from conferences to incentives and trips first-hand.
