A NEW £12 million food factory which is expected to create 100 jobs in Norton is on track to open in April.
The Cranswick Gourmet Pastry Company is a new company created through a collaboration between Hull-based butchers Cranswick and Norton firm Yorkshire Baker.
The new factory, being built at the Norton Grove Industrial Estate, will produce pies and savouries for the Yorkshire Baker brand, as well as own-label produce for Marks & Spencer.
Jim Brisby, Cranswick sales and marketing director, said: “The factory will continue to use very traditional methods and we will not change anything in the process of the products. However, we will continue to expand our customer base and launch new products.
“We have plenty of very exciting opportunities for people who perhaps have existing expertise in bakery and meat production or are looking to learn new skills through our training.”
