THE first phase of City of York Council’s £22.7 million Access York project will be constructed by Balfour Beatty, it has been announced.
The scheme, which is one of the largest single investments in York’s transport infrastructure, will create two new Park & Ride sites on the outskirts of the city.
Work is expected to start next month on the sites at Boroughbridge Road and Askham Bar and will last about 54 weeks.
It will involve service diversions, earthworks, a new bus terminal and highway, footpaths and subway construction.
