EASY parking, tranquility and a reduction in business rates have helped lure three new commercial tenants to a business park near York.
A hat-trick of deals will see 100% Proof Marketing, Domus Healthcare and Counter Intelligence Retail (CIR) Ltd move into Escrick Park Estate, between York and Selby, taking 3,400 sq ft of office space between them.
An estate spokesman said that since 35 acres of derelict buildings on the park had undergone a £1.4 million refurb, 130 jobs had been created.
Charles Forbes-Adam, owner and developer of the park, said 80 per cent of its 22 offices were now let.
He said: “We are tremendously proud of creating a serious business park, with top-class facilities, within a rural idyll.
“We believe Escrick Park, which comprises a number of self-contained hi-spec office developments and 14 units for light industry, has an exceptional and inspiring working environment which is unrivalled in the south York and Selby areas.”
Mr Forbes-Adam said the park had recently gained significant reductions in its business rates through a successful appeal.
Andrea Jetten, managing director of the Domus Healthcare Group, a provider of care and support to people in their own homes, said the park’s offices met her need for space in a cost-effective way. She said: “The on-site parking is a must for us, the location is superb and the peace and quiet is wonderful.”
Martin Lambert, managing director of drinks marketing agency 100% Proof Marketing, said he had relocated to Escrick Park from nearby Wheldrake because the business was expanding.
“There are many things we enjoy about the location,” he said. “The setting is fantastic and, as a creative business, I hope it will inspire our staff, especially in the summer months. It is extremely quiet and peaceful and the on-site parking is a real plus, while the commute is a good one, with the majority of us heading in the opposite direction to the masses.”
Ian Fairburn of business consultants VFM Associates, who have had their head office at Escrick Park for more than 12 years, said: “What has kept us here, apart from the beautiful location and value for money, is the quality of service and flexible approach provided by the estate office.”
