THE founder of a Harrogate print firm is stepping down as managing director as it celebrates its quarter century.
David Wyvill, who set up Platinum Print with his wife Marina in 1988, will remain with the company as Mark Plummer is promoted to MD.
The appointment comes for Mr Plummer following 23 years with the business. He said: “My first proper job was working for a firm called Courtesy Print which operated out of a basement under a shop in Knaresborough.
“One day, David and Marina Wyvill came into Courtesy to look at a press they were thinking of buying. It turned out to be a very fortunate meeting for me.”
The Wyvills kept in touch and 18 months later Mr Plummer joined the business.
It is now based at Hookstone Park and achieved an increase in turnover of more than £200,000 in the last three months over the same period in 2012. Mrs Wyvill remains finance director while Mr Wyvill looks at bringing more digital services to the company.
