A HARROGATE hairdresser has been made a Fellow with Honours by industry organisation the Fellowship for British Hairdressing.
Joseph Ferraro, owner of Halo Hair and Beauty, in the North Yorkshire town, was presented with the award by Fellowship president Errol Douglas, at a lunch at the Dorchester Hotel in London.
Nominated by his hairdressing peers for services to the hairdressing industry, Australian-born Mr Ferraro said he was overjoyed with the honour.
He said: “The Fellowship For British Hairdressing Awards are unique in that the winners are nominated and chosen by fellow hairdressers.
“It is very special for me to know that my peers in the industry acknowledge the hard work and commitment that I put into my profession.
“It is vitally important to give back to an industry that has given me so much, and to help inspire and educate young stylists of the future.”
As well as working in his salon in Leeds Road in Harrogate, Mr Ferraro also runs training and education seminars and workshops for the fellowship across the UK.
Mr Ferraro, who has twice been a North Eastern Hairdresser Of The Year finalist and former member of the Fellowship’s FAME Team (Fellowship Academy for Merit and Excellence), is a regular at London Fashion Week and a finalist in the Salon Stylist 2013 competition.
