The corporate commercial team at Langleys Solicitors in York has further strengthened its corporate offering with the appointment of partner Christian Hunt, who joins from Leeds-based Clarion, where he was a partner for six years.

Mr Hunt’s expertise includes mergers and acquisitions, management buy outs and buy ins, reorganisations, refinancing and disposals.

His appointment comes during a period of growth at Langleys, which has offices in York and Lincoln, and has predicted a ten per cent increase in revenue this financial year. The firm has also recently announced further strategic appointments in risk and compliance, learning and development, and finance.

 

• Continued growth at a Boroughbridge-based shredding technology business has paved the way for two senior promotions within the team.

Neil Jefferies has taken on the role of UNTHA UK’s finance director, while Marcus Brew has stepped into the position of sales director.

 

• Arc Inspirations, the Leeds-based business which owns and manages ten bars across Yorkshire, including Banyan in York and Harrogate, with a staff of 400, has announced a new appointment to head up the finance of its growing business. Andy Whelan has taken up the new position of finance director having joined Arc from his previous position as a senior manager within the audit department at international accountants KPMG.

 

• Bannatyne’s Health Club and Spa in York has appointed Chris Hairs, a marathon runner, as its new general manager. Mr Hairs, originally from Tunbridge Wells in Kent, will lead the White Rose Close Health Club, bringing with him more than 20 years’ experience in the leisure industry.

He said: “I have been made to feel very welcome from colleagues and members at the health club and I am relishing the opportunity to share my ideas and experience. York is beautiful city and a great place to live and work.”

 

• A former Nestlé manager has joined The Wensleydale Creamery as its new business development manager. Gary Johnson has joined the makers of Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese tasked with driving growth in new international markets and building global partnerships.

 

• National property consultant Carter Jonas has announced two new appointments within its residential team in Harrogate.

Estate agent Lesley Shakeshaft has joined as associate, and Amy Wall has re-joined the company as a residential sales negotiator.

 

• ONE of Yorkshire’s oldest law firms, Barber Titleys Solicitors based in Harrogate, has made a high-powered new appointment to boost its property team.

Senior property lawyer Russell Burnett joins as a partner, having served as a former associate in the Leeds office of international law firm Eversheds.

He has more than a decade’s experience advising clients, ranging from individuals to large institutions. Before becoming a lawyer, he worked in commercial management with a blue-chip high street retailer.

He joins head of property Richard Davis as a partner in the property department and will work closely with head of planning Tim Axe.
