YORK-based Lindum has been named as the top construction company in the UK to work for.

Lindum, which has its York head office in Blossom Street, picked up the title in this year’s Sunday TImes Best 100 Companies To Work For, in which it was ranked 15th overall and number one in the construction category.

The list was compiled based on research from nearly 900 organisations from which 250,000 employees were surveyed.

Kim Maure, customer services manager for Lindum’s construction division, said: “To be in the winning top 15 companies is itself an incredible achievement, but this year’s award means Lindum has been listed in the ‘top 20’ companies consistently now since 2008, which is fantastic for our construction company.”

Lindum was also presented with a special award in recognition of the highest average ranking in the Best Companies To Work For list for the past ten years.

There to receive this award was Lindum chairman David Chambers, who said: “It’s great news for all of us at Lindum but also for the construction industry. We employ a wide range of people in various locations and numerous occupations, from skilled tradesmen on our building sites to office based support staff, so it’s quite remarkable and very rewarding to get such positive feedback from our employees.”
