A SURGE in demand for office space is being reported in Wetherby by a national property consultant.
Carter Jonas has relocated three clients into newly acquired premises in Walkers Court and Cromwell office parks in the town.
Further education provider Pitman Training, which operates nationally, has recently acquired 3,000 sq ft of office space at Fairfax House, in Walkers Court, off Audby Lane.
Agricultural wind turbine suppliers Earthmill is about to move into neighbouring Marston House, also located at Walkers Court, where it has agreed to occupy 2,500 sq ft.
Finally, Bradford-based manufacturing and electrical engineering company Tatham Ltd has recently acquired 1,200 sq ft of first floor office space at Akula House, on the Cromwell office park.
Mark Woodward, co-director of Earthmill, said: “We are going through a period of growth and needed well-appointed, accessible office space that can accommodate an expanding team that will include up to 10 new members of staff.
“We wanted to retain our headquarters in Wetherby and were delighted with the opportunity to move into Walkers Court, with its great links to the A1(M).”
David Aspland, head of commercial at Carter Jonas in Yorkshire, said: “This is fantastic news for Wetherby landlords, and the people who live and work here, as these three deals are testament to the continuing popularity of what is a bustling town location with great transport links.”
