SKIPBRIDGE Country Weddings has become one of the first venues in the York area to feature in The Gay Wedding Guide website.
The new website has been launched to coincide with the Same-Sex Couples Act coming into force in the UK tomorrow, and the Green Hammerton-based venue has become one of the first to be listed.
Gill Hall, owner of Skipbridge Country Weddings, said: "Here at Skipbridge Country Weddings we believe in our motto 'your special day your way ' and we are thrilled to be hosting our first civil ceremony this year.
"We are hoping with the introduction of the same sex couples marriage act that same sex couples will have more options and choice."
Mrs Hall set up the business at her family's small holding after hosting her own daugther's wedding there.
Last year the business hosted seven wedding parties, and already has another ten booked for this year.
Founded by former hospitality worker Kate Lovell in 2013, The Gay Wedding Guide followed the launch of les Deux Messieurs - an online resource which reviewed hotels from a gay perspective.
