What was this four-wheeled symbol of New York doing in old York?
A real life New York yellow cab - manufactured more than 20 years ago, and with more than one million miles on the clock - toured the city to mark a company opening its new office in York.
From Manhattan to Micklegate, the cab was "hailed" by residential letting specialists Linley & Simpson to help it launch a competition for York property owners, which could see one lucky couple winning an all-expenses break to America.
Landlords who place new properties with Linley & Simpson's York office before February 28 will be entered into a prize draw.
It is for a chance of jetting away to New York on a transatlantic trip for two.
Sarah Patten, the manager of the new Micklegate branch, which has opened with five staff, got behind the the wheel of the hired vehicle.
She said: "The yellow cab caused several double takes as it toured the York district.
"Many tourists asked it to stop so they could take photographs. It was a real smile-maker."
The Micklegate branch marks the latest phase in Linley & Simpson's expansion drive.
It also has three branches in Leeds, and one each in Harrogate and Wetherby.
Specialising in the middle-to-upper end of the market, the firm offers homes with monthly rents between £400 and £4,000.
It works closely with major relocation agencies, and counts soccer players moving to Yorkshire, and TV stars working on location in the county, among its clients.
