A TRAVEL agent has teamed up with his former employer to combine expertise and experience for a new venture in York.
Kris Roberts is today launching Amigo Travel in a bid to fulfil a long-standing dream of running his own business, and utilise a travel industry career which began at the age of 16.
After being approached by friends for advice on how to book cheap holidays, Mr Roberts approached former employer, York-based Quartz Travel, for support in setting up his own agency.
He said he wanted to combine his experience with the "reputable and respected" reputation of Quartz.
Mr Roberts, who has opened Amgio Travel from an office in Fishergate, said: "I could have opted to be a travel homeworker and develop my business from home, but I wanted to get out there and mix with the public doing something that I studied for and something I love.
"I look forward to talking to people of Yorkshire with their future holiday plans."
