A YORK firm of accountants has appointed a new partner in its second in-house promotion to the senior team in four months.
Alastair Byrne has been promoted to partner from his role as head of tax planning at JWP Creers.
After joining the practice in 2008, Mr Byrne set up the firm’s owner managed businesses and corporate tax advisory service, working with the corporate finance team led by partner, Tony Farmer. He was promoted to associate in 2010.
As head of tax planning he specialises in corporate reconstructions, share schemes, and intellectual property tax advice relating to research and development and patent box tax issues.
His promotion follows that of Jill Campbell this summer and takes the firm to seven partners.
Mr Byrne said: “I am excited by my new role and the challenges it brings. My appointment emphasises JWPCreers’ commitment to innovation and supporting new creative businesses which started with our move to York Science Park four years ago.”
Alongside its office at York Science Park, JWP Creers is based in Park Street, Selby, and has more than 80 members of staff.
