A SELBY catering company is in the running to receive a title at the inaugural Food Awards England and Wales.
Happy Hogs Catering will tonight find out if it has won the Caterer of the Year category at the awards, which are being held at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel.
Thousands of nominations flooded in for the awards, which are voted for by the public, and are designed to recognise the efforts of England and Wales restaurants, takeaways, gastro pubs, hotel restaurants, cafes and bistros, as well as shine the spotlight on the local producers who supply their ingredients.
The nomination for Happy Hogs comes off the back of the family-run business being named Caterers of the Year in the ‘The North of England Wedding Awards 2014.
Kate Dawson of Happy Hogs said: "As free range hog roast and BBQ caterers we work passionately on each and every clients booking, using local award winning free range meat and fresh local ingredients.
"So this opportunity means so much to us, even just being finalists gives us so much recognition for all our hard work that we are so very proud of.
"We would like to thank all of our clients for using us and nominating us for this award, and also for our clients that helped us win in the ‘The North of England Wedding Awards 2014’ so a big thank you to everyone that voted and nominating us to win."
The Food Awards England and Wales are being held tonight and feature 26 award categories.
